The Problem With Heartache Synopsis: The problem with heartache is that there’s no one-size-fits-all relief package. You can go to classes; you can try to embrace change. But when you wake up at two in the morning, a smile on your face because you’ve dreamt about the could have—the should have—nothing will console you.
Because seconds later, you remember.
And remembering can rip you apart.
Kate will do anything for her family. It’s why she took the job with Lee. It’s why she’s attempting to forget her pain. But it’s hard to forget, when you’re desperate to hold on. Even if Lee Collins is the perfect package. Lee will do anything for the ones he cares about. It’s why he hired Kate. It’s why he keeps his secrets; and it’s why he cannot, will not fall in love. Not with Kate—not with anyone. Ever. The one thing he can’t forgive. The one thing she can’t forget
Lee-Freaking-Collins. Yeah, he’s cool, and though he isn’t my favourite tortured rock star, he is in the top 20. Do you know how many there are? This is still good!!!
Lee’s & Kate’s story is very sweet – with just enough heat. Lee is out to do all the good he can with the hope that it will elevate some of the guilt he feels for his past. Kate is drowning in sorrow after her boyfriend dies. Both are blindsided by their attraction – and both try to fight it.
These two are an interesting pair. I really connected with Kate right away. I felt her depression and pain as if it were my own.
Now Lee, he was harder. Honestly, I thought he was a bit over-dramatic and while I still think he has a tad feminine and dramatic, he made more sense to me when I got the whole scoop.
Overall, I give it 3.5 cups, I enjoyed it, but I don’t know that I would go all fan-girl over Lee.
