Relinquish by Sapphire Knight

Free bird- He calls me free bird, yet I’m not the one who’s free. At least not as free as he is. He’s covered in tattoos, roaring down a Texas highway, and living life. I sit here, pondering what my life could be. It was only supposed to be fun, a few casual hook-ups. I’m Avery, flustered Barista- looking for a diversion. I’m not like the others. I’m not ready to give-in and accept my fate.
2- I didn’t have a clue that the pull would be so strong. To concede, or relent, to just submit to my feelings for her. She came looking for me, when I had no idea I wanted to be found. She’s so strong, it’s mesmerizing, but I’m not the only one who notices. Just when it hits me of what’s right in front of me, waiting, things turn chaotic. I’m 2 Piece, a stubborn member of the Oath Keepers MC. You think you know me because I’m a typical biker? You don’t have a clue. Together, this is our story. Can we relinquish and submit to our hearts?

A soft vintage portrait of a glamorous woman.

“How do I know if you’re genuine? You could be fake as fuck right now, and bad mouthin’ me when you have her alone.” He looks at me with confusion and annoyance. ”Look, I just call it like I see it,” I say and shrug. I take a large gulp of coffee and damn near burn my tongue off. I choke that shit down though. I will not look weak in any aspect in front of this blonde-haired brute.

“I’m here to help you and to protect Avery. I have no reason to be misleading. I will simply say what I think to your face. Clearly I am not scared of you.” He nods toward my cheek where I have a dark bruise from the fight we got into.

“Yes and clearly I am not scared of your ass either,” I reply and nod toward his forehead. It’s where the cut is right above his eyebrow, from one of my punches. I may not be the biggest guy around but I’m not going to let anyone think they intimidate me. It’s probably stupid. I know Nikoli could seriously kick my ass, most likely. Being in the club life though, you learn to stand up for yourself and not take any shit.

“Very good. Then we move past. I won’t speak of it again.” I nod my acceptance of the mutually agreed to terms we just reached. I catch him talking shit and stirrin’ up stuff with me and Shorty, then it’s fuckin’ on like Donkey Kong.

Blog Tour with ARC Review ~ The Undercover Schoundrel by Jessica Peterson

The Undercover Scoundrel Banner
The Undercover Scoundrel CoverThe Undercover Scoundrel Synopsis:

The author of The Millionaire Rogue returns to her dazzling series about a bygone era filled with romance, espionage, and one dangerously seductive diamond…

Mr. Henry Lake spent the past twelve years uncovering the most scandalous secrets of Europe’s wealthy and powerful, serving as one of His Majesty’s most decorated spies. But when a mission to find the legendary French Blue diamond brings him back to London, and face to face with a beautiful noblewoman he once loved, it’s his own hidden passions that are uncovered…

Lady Caroline, dowager Duchess of Berry, knows better than to lose her head over a man. After an embarrassing romantic entanglement forced her into a loveless marriage and early widowhood, she learned to never trust in desire, especially when it comes to the man who once broke her heart. Only, despite her good sense, she finds Henry impossible to resist—even when he once again places her in deathly danger…

My Review

Oh the feel of historical romance! It makes me want to take tea and dress in, well, never mind actually, their clothes sound uncomfortable. But the speech, the setting, the rules of society all lead us as readers into such a world beyond our own that we are truly able to escape in a way that contemporary romance just cannot provide.

Henry and Caroline are an amazing couple that have been through (and go through) so much you just cannot help but fall hopelessly in love with them. Their connection is as true and strong as it was 12 years ago, but will that be enough? I’m not telling.

The supporting characters were incredible. They provide so much color, as a reader you are not only drawn in, but you want to know more about them and the consequences of their actions. Pain, loyalty, betrayal, love; all of the facets that make for an amazing tale are provided by every character.

What I will tell you is that the twists and turns throughout the book keep you on your toes and while you may think that you know what is going to happen, you don’t. Just accept it and go along for a lovely carriage ride (if by lovely you take that to mean filled with suspense, acrobats, possible death, and thieves) through the English countryside.

I give The Undercover Scoundrel 4 cups and recommend it for your next historical read 🙂

Amazon * Nook * iBooks * Kobo * Google Play * Smashwords

About LURE:

There’s danger in the beauty…

Two years, six months, and twenty-five days. That’s how long it had been since I’d seen my winged hero— not that I’d been counting. I’d suffered through years of counseling just to convince my friends and family that I wasn’t crazy and knew he didn’t exist.

But he did. And I was done waiting.

Days after college graduation I headed back down to New Orleans to retrace my steps and find Owen again only to find my life was about to get even crazier… thanks to the most beautiful and dangerous of all paranormal creatures, the Allures.

Seductions Kiss

Amazon * Nook * iBooks * Kobo * Google Play * Smashwords

*Prequel novella to Lure (The Allure Chronicles #1)*

Never agree to a road trip to New Orleans with your roommate. At least not when your roommate is dragging you along while she reconnects with an ex-boyfriend. Possible consequences of failing to take my advice:

1) Unknowingly going out with a vampire stripper
2) Getting kidnapped by said vampire’s nest mates
3) Falling head over heels for your winged hero

Believe it or not number 3 is the worst one, especially when no one believes you that he exists.

My Review

J. D. Hollyfield is one of my freaking heroes! Her ability to tell a heartwrenching yet witty story is virtually unparalelled.

The first chapters of MSCL has me busting a gut, but then suddenly, I was busting out the tissues.

Ian is an amazing main character. So many books have alpha’s (and we love them, don’t get me wrong) that it was refreshing to find a BBF that is… wait for it… a normal guy!! Hot? Yes! Assertive in bed? Oh, yeah! Little mister bossy asshole that expects you to understand ow he feels without saying anything? NO!! Ian is, instead, a well-rounded character that is super easy to fall in love with.

“You can put a ton of years and a million miles between you and the one, but the heart doesn’t forget”

You may take a moment to properly swoon… And that’s enough of that.

Now, some readers may have a hard time falling in love with Chrissy, but I beg you to give her a chance. Just remember, she has to live with everything she has done or will do. She has her reasons and if you open your heart to her, Chrissy is a phenomenal character.

The relationship between these two is so dynamic, emotional, and filled with regret, that I was pulled so firmly into their world I didn’t want to find my way out until I saw those two magic words…  “The End”

Blog Tour with 4 Cup Review of A Little Bit In Love by N. D. Jackson

Blog Tour:
A Little Bit
In Love
(A Mustang Prairie Romance)
by N.D. Jackson
May 18th-
May 28th
After losing her birth parents and her adopted parents Alexis Mabry is used to being alone. So after a year of horrible dates with everyone from sugar baby wannabes to cross dressers, she decides to stop dating altogether and focus on what matters most: her business and her friends in Mustang Prairie.
When she meets a handsome stranger on a trip to California she starts to wonder if its time to get back in the game.
Baxter Thompsen spent the last decade building his empire to the exclusion of everything but sex. Now tired of
the socialites and starlets, he wants someone real. When he does she only wants a vacation fling and it’s up to Baxter to show her that lust is great, but love is the real prize.
Is it lust or are Baxter and Alex more than a little bit in love?
This is book 2 in the Mustang
Prairie series. Each book can be read as a stand alone but you’ll see many of the same characters throughout each story and meet new residents from one book to the next!
Before we go to far I really want to thank N. D. Jackson for such a KICK ASS heroine! Thank you!!
kick ass chick
Phew, got that out of my system, so let’s get to crackin’.
A Little Bit in Love is a great showcase of a woman who is not only capable of taking care of her self, but determined to do so. Alexis doesn’t need a man – but deep down she wants one. So she suffers through horrible – yet hilarious dates – trying to find some sort of spark with someone. Taking a much needed break from business, Alexis goes to California to visit her friend Shelly and mmm, mmm, mmm, yumminess ensues.
Baxter is friends with Noel (Shelly’s fiance) and ends up being cast in the latest version of Shelly & Noel’s “Love Connection” with an introduction to Alexis. Ladies, Baxter is yummy, nom-able, holy hotness. No. Joke. He feels a connection with Alexis (as she does with him) and they agree to see what happens in the short time Alexis is in town.
At one point I was using my Jedi Mind Powers to try as make Alexis do what I wanted her to do. And guess what?! IT WORKED!! I did a happy dance 🙂
It was great to have two characters that you could really root for while you watched them come together, struggle with circumstance, and grow as a couple but also as individuals. The initial spark was amazing, too. You immediately love this couple and want them to make it, but when sh*t hits the fan, you get upset right along with the character. And don’t read into this. BOTH Baxter and Alexis do things that create conflict, I am not hating on my man Bax. And what fun is a romance novel without conflict? Not much. Not much at all.
On a side note, normally I do not discuss formatting. It’s an ARC, sh*t isn’t always perfect. But in this case I think it’s important. Even with some flaws in the formatting (which i was in the second version where fixed so don’t worry you book will be perfect!) I could not stop reading this book. That says a lot. It took me a few chapters to get the flow, but once I did I sucked this book down like it was nobody’s business.
So do the clickity-oneclick and grab A Little Bit In Love right now!
Conflict of Interest (A Mustang
Prairie Romance)

Shellie Winthrop is happy with her life in Mustang Prairie. She has her best friend Alex, her consulting business that helps the town businesses prosper, Merlot Mondays (and Tuesdays and Wednesdays and…you get it) plus a town full of people she’s known and loved most of her life. When super sexy Noel Hampton moves to town he shows her how much happier she could be.Noel Hampton is not happy about moving from NYC to the speck of a town called Mustang Prairie. But if he wants to make VP of KitchenMart he’ll go and he will make it work. But when he encounters a petite spitfire hellbent on standing in his way, Noel finds there is more to life than career advancement.

This is Book 1 in the Mustang Prairie Romance series but each book can be read as a standalone story…no cliffhangers!

Feels Like Love (Sadie & Dylan) SUMMER 2015

Hey I’m Natasha and I love stories. I love to read them, to watch them and most of all I love to write them. I find people endlessly fascinating and frustrating, which makes for the most interesting stories!I also love politics and true crime so in addition to writing romance, I also write political satire. It has been my dream to make a living as a writer since I was a kid and got lost in Judy Blume, The Babysitter’s Club and Sweet Valley High (is my age showing?!?!). When I’m not writing I can be found engaging in one-sided conversations with Rachel Maddow, singing very loudly very badly and trying out new cuisines from around the world.

I love to laugh, I gave my husband a sappy pet name and I think answers to most of life’s dilemma’s can be found in an episode of Dawson’s Creek.

My first series, Mustang Prairie, is small town romance because I feel they offer a variety of fun characters whose lives are interconnected. It is based loosely on my college town, which was the smallest town I’ve ever lived in…Go Panthers!

Currently I’m living in Germany so I can see Europe but by the time my next book comes out…who knows where I’ll be!!!!

An unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible

Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she’s curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn’t mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.

Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They’re the good guys. They protect people. They’re…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club’s most respected member—is in town, he’s gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it’s his shot at his dream. What he doesn’t count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.

No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

Hand rider on handlebars, close-up

From Emily’s Point of View. Set up: Emily is riding a motorcycle for the very first time and she’s riding it with Oz.

THE MOTORCYCLE ACCELERATES AND THE FEW inches I had established between me and Oz: gone. My body slides forward, colliding into his, and we click together like two puzzle pieces. Heat rushes up my neck and onto my cheeks. My thighs are too close to his, too tight against his body and this is way more intimate than I have been before with a guy.

Even when the two of us kissed.

Oz veers left, away from Olivia’s, away from the main road, and the entire motorcycle pitches to the side. My heart thunders and my fingers clutch not only at Oz’s belt loop, but at the material of his jeans, and his hips.

Oz glances at me over his shoulder as the bike straightens out. “Lean with it, Emily.”

Right. Lean with Oz and the bike. Got it. The narrow road curves ahead and this time when Oz and the bike tilt, I move along with it. Oz releases one of the amazingly high handlebars and massages my knee before returning his hand to the grip. Whether in reassurance or to affirm I mastered the curve I don’t know, but either way, I sit higher.

The wind whips through my hair and onto my face and I shut my eyes for a brief second and pretend that I’m flying. There’s something energizing, something hypnotic, something inside me that begs to burst out of a cage in search of freedom.

The motorcycle kicks forward and our speed increases. Beams of sunlight filter through the towering trees and green foliage blurs together as we fly over the road. From head to toe, my body vibrates with the loud growling of the powerful machine.

My knee still tingles from where Oz laid his fingers on me and I’ve never been more aware of my hands in my life. I should let go of Oz’s body, but I can’t. Belt loops weren’t enough and my fingers have somehow edged up and onto his sides. Oz is solid. Yes, definitely solid. Every inch of him that I touch is tight muscle.

Oz is a year older than me, but somehow he seems older, wiser and hotter than any other guy I’ve known. Just the way he rides his bike creates this overabundance of confidence.

Warm sensations I’ve never experienced before blossom through me. We enter another curve and I lean with him. I like how in sync I’ve become with Oz and the motorcycle. Like we’ve merged into one.

The purr of the engine deepens and Oz eases the bike to a stop. His feet hit the ground and he turns the machine off. It’s as if all sound in the world ceased, or maybe I’ve gone deaf because there’s no way anything can be this still or silent.

The wind picks up and the silence is frightened away with the roar of the trees bending. Both Oz and I shift with the flow of air and Oz doesn’t move the bike until the breeze gentles.

Oz kicks down the stand and the bike tilts, but not too much. He sets a hand over the fingers that I laced together across his stomach. Oh, hell, I’m plastic wrapped to him. I drop my head onto his shoulder and it places me closer, and closer is not what I need.

I go to unglue myself, but Oz squeezes my fingers, sending a jolt of electricity up my arms. “You okay?”

I have to clear my throat to speak and that just sucks. “Yes.”

Oz slides his fingers against mine and a fluttering occurs in my stomach. It’s a light fluttering. Ticklish even, and my survival instincts scream at me to get off this motorcycle.
