About CONQUERING

Wes ‘Stiff’ Collins lived life on the wild side. He worked from the moment he knew what the word meant, always making the best of every situation. There was nothing about his past he would change.

Without a real family except his brother Xander, Stiff joined the Vipers Creed Motorcycle Club, and they taught him what it was to have people he could depend on. When his past crashed into his present, he vowed to protect the club that had always been his steady, even if it meant turning his back on the woman who had given him life.

Chelsea Miller’s life was simple: work, take care of her family, and save for the future. Everything was about having a goal and a plan. However, when her sister ended up battered and bruised on a diner floor, everything she thought was in her past suddenly threatened her future. In a moment, she had a new goal, everything else be damned. She would protect her family … at all costs.

Stiff and Chelsea’s worlds collide in an explosion of determination, strength, and lust. Will they give in to temptation, or will conquering each other be too steep a price? Two people not afraid to put in the work will either overcome everything in their paths or finally crumble under life’s troubles they can’t escape, all in the name of family.

Conquer. It’s something we all have to do at some point; whether it be fears, situations, people, or BS that someone else has thrown on our doorstep. This new release from Ryan Michele is a great example of how other people’s actions have a way of thrusting us into places we never thought we venture and how sometimes the help we are forced to accept will liberate us in ways we never dreamed possible.

Stiff and Chelsea are quite the pair. This wild biker dude that has been around the block, never once showing an interest in the determined diner waitress. The best part? Her determination has nothing to do with landing a guy. It’s all about her family and being able to call something hers.

Chelsea has worked her butt off to help provide for her family ever since her father walked away, too far gone in his own desires to worry about the family he created. So used to doing everything for herself, she doesn’t know how to accept help when thing get out of control. I loved how independent and fierce this chick was. I also enjoyed watching some of that barrier come down, because we all need help sometimes. Life has been pretty cruel to this woman, and her unspoken thoughts (that we get to read) say so much.

I couldn’t allow that. I couldn’t accept that whatever this was between us was real.

Stiff and I didn’t gel quite as quickly. Have no doubt, he’s pretty cool. But there are somethings the woman you are trying to woo shouldn’t have to explain. If it had been me, I would have shaken my head, walked away, and let him figure it out. This one scene made me go, “Bosco, I love you man. Way to actually pay attention.” Note the sarcasm, which is directed at Stiff.

But, by the end, Stiffy-boy won me over, so while I still wished I could have kidney-punched him in that moment, if Chels can get over it, so can I.
