Woo! Cooper is all kinds of grown up!
So I’m a big Ryan Michele fan. hand been since Ravage Me. But I wondered how it would be to read about the grown up version of the little guy I loved then. Lemme tell ya, it was awesome.
Cooper is super fly. Gruff, secure, good-hearted, and strong, Cooper is an amazing MC Romance leading man.
Bristyl was unique. Brought up in an MC also, she sorta knows the ropes. Only sorta because her family’s MC isn’t as kick ass as Ravage. She has her own strengths and is really very sweet. She ain’t Princess, but she doesn’t have to be. Sheer hold her own.
I think the thing I loved the most about this story is the courtship. These two really had the chance to get to know each other before the sexy times started. While I can totally dig it the other way, this was refreshing and really showed the alpha biker boy in a different light.
Full of romance, heart, action, and a new generation of hot bikers, Bound by Family is Ryan Michele’s best yet.

Cooper Cruz knows what it means to be surrounded and bound by family. Loyalty, brotherhood, and protection are all learned, earned, and respected by him and the Ravage Motorcycle Club family he grew up in. At the same, he’s a man, having fun and living the life he has always envisioned, until a trip to Florida changes everything.

Bristyl Daniels knows what it means to be smothered and bound by family. Bonds run deep with her father and all the members of the Sinister Sons Motorcycle Club she has grown up in. But now she’s all woman and wishes they would see she isn’t a little girl anymore. Then one phone call gives her a chance meeting with a hunk of a man she can’t get off her mind.

When her favorite band comes to play at a motorcycle rally in her hometown, Bristyl decides it’s worth the risk to sneak off for a little fun. When a situation gets heated, though, Cooper and the Ravage MC step in, setting off a chain of events, both good and bad in both their lives.

As the dust settles, Bristyl will have to come to some very hard decisions. Meanwhile, Cooper knows exactly what he wants. To hell with the consequences.

Holy hells bells.
I’m not sure if I should be pissed that my brothers and father left me to deal with this mess or thank them for the gorgeous eye candy. Not that I would, because they’d have a fit either way, but damn. Maybe it’s my mom smiling down on me, giving me a ray of sunshine through this mess.
All three of the guys are hot in their own way. By the cuts on their backs, they belong to the Ravage Motorcycle Club. Here for the rally, of course, and will be gone in a flash. That’s how it is. What the hell, I’ll enjoy the view while I can.
I sop up the water and wring out the mop head, then repeat … again and again.
Ryker, who boldly introduced himself, is a player. Yep, seen hundreds of them in my day growing up in the club. Tattoos, sexy vibe … I bet he doesn’t even have to ask women, just crooks his finger.
The other man, who I’m not sure his name, looks a little lighter in a way, but I’m not sure how to describe it.
Cooper, though. My heavens. Talk about charismatic, and I got that just from the few words he spoke to me. Hell, I get it just from being in the same room with him. It’s like he oozes it out of his pores, releasing it out in the world for women to fall at his feet and beg. Then there’s the hair. I can’t call it light, and it’s definitely not dark. It’s a unique combination of the two; light browns intertwined with a few darker browns, giving his hair a shade I haven’t seen before. Like a caramel color with an edge, and long. So much so that he has a hair tie wrapped around his wrist. No doubt he puts it up regularly. I’d put money on it only amping up his sexiness.
When our eyes connected for that brief moment, the blue popped out in his. I also noticed some navy around the edges. That combination of hair and eyes … Be still my deprived heart.
The way his pants ride low on his hips makes me want to give up all kinds of things to get him to raise his arms above his head so his black T-shirt rises up and I can see what’s underneath.
He has tattoos running all up his left arm, disappearing under his shirt. I can see some black poking through the top at his neck, too. It piques my curiosity, wanting to find out what he’s hiding.
I shake my head and squeeze out the mop. It’s been way too long since … Never mind.

Review ~ Beauty of the Beast by Rachel L. Demeter

BofB Review Banner

Beauty of the Beast by Rachel L. Demeter was exactly what I needed right before seeing the super fab live action remake of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. It reminded me of the more realistic, somewhat sad version of the classic tale.

I loved Isabelle. She was true to the times, yet fierce and unrelenting when necessary. Her strength of character was only out shined by her ability to love. Lost, cold, and caring for her ill father, Isabelle refuses to take no for an answer when they find Prince Adam’s castle are in need of shelter. Her willingness to marry a horrible man (and omg, he is AWFUL) to ensure her family is taken care of broke my heart.

Prince Adam was very well written. The way we are shown his past really set the stage for his desire to be alone and the depths of his sadness. But the way he cared for Isabelle proved that even after years of anger and self-hatred, his heart was still strong and seeking someone to fill it with love.

Certainly not an easy read, Beauty of the Beast dives into the less beautiful side of relationships and the pain of not measuring up. But it also allows the reader to see that even when surrounded by darkness, there is always light .. if you look for it.

Reclusive and severely scarred Prince Adam Delacroix has remained hidden inside a secluded, decrepit castle ever since he witnessed his family’s brutal massacre. Cloaked in shadow, with only the lamentations of past ghosts for company, he has abandoned all hope, allowing the world to believe he died on that tragic eve twenty-five years ago.

Caught in a fierce snowstorm, beautiful and strong-willed Isabelle Rose seeks shelter at a castle—unaware that its beastly and disfigured master is much more than he appears to be. When he imprisons her gravely ill and blind father, she bravely offers herself in his place.

Stripped of his emotional defenses, Adam’s humanity reawakens as he encounters a kindred soul in Isabelle. Together they will wade through darkness and discover beauty and passion in the most unlikely of places. But when a monster from Isabelle’s former life threatens their new love, Demrov’s forgotten prince must emerge from his shadows and face the world once more…

Perfect for fans of Beauty and the Beast and The Phantom of the Opera, Beauty of the Beast brings a familiar and well-loved fairy tale to life with a rich setting in the kingdom of Demrov and a captivating, Gothic voice.

Review ~ To Me I Wed by KM Jackson

Once again, KM Jackson has given me a sweet romance with just the right amount of heat. In fact, I liked this one even better than her last, Insert Groom Here. And can we get a round of applause for this cute-as-a-button cover??

The idea of loving yourself enough to promise to cherish yourself forever is super fab. While unconventional (and garnering a ton of crap from her family), Lily  was a great leading lady. I loved her dedication and fierce determination to prove that she doesn’t need a man. However, what we need and what we end up wanting…. that can be different.

Enter Vincent. He and Lily share a bit of a past – one that any reader can relate to. I swear, I have had similar thoughts regarding past instances and it made me grab a hold of these characters easily. Their wariness, their hesitation, and their fears are so real and understandable that I HAD to see them be happy. Had. To.

The relationship is anything but easy as both parties have huge fears when it comes to relying on and falling for someone. The author kept the drama realistic and yet I was still able to escape into the world she created.

I absolutely recommend To Me I Wed to anyone looking for a sweet, romantic, sorta hot read.

tmiw.jpg“Have your cake and true love too…”

Nightmare bridesmaids dresses, tasteless fondant icing, budget-busting wedding expenses some women just aren’t about it. They’ll laugh off tradition, make their own rules and find the most outrageous ways possible to flip wedding day lockstep into true love.

She’s done, finished, “had” it. Between her family’s expectations and being always-a-bridesmaid, Lily Perry is fed up with being nagged to find a husband. She’s happy with her life and tired of being burned by nice guys who demand she fit their dreams. So she’s going to settle the issue once and for all: by marrying herself. And celebrated chef Vincent Caro’s fabulous restaurant is the perfect place for a big-time, blow-out,
not-hearing-it-any-more wedding. Lily doesn’t care if everyone including Vincent thinks she’s crazy. Especially when his mouth-watering talent and no-commitments style ignites one sizzling, no-strings fling, or two or more.

But no matter how hard they try to keep things light, their relationship keeps getting hotter. The more Vincent helps Lily tackle unexpected trouble, the more he finds she might be everything he s ever wanted. Can she afford to forget caution and finally let go? And can they both take a risk to discover if what they have is meant to last long after the dessert course?

Review ~ Wild Ride by Julie Ann Walker

Wild Ride was an interesting interpretation of an MC. The men were still gruff, but the way they spoke didn’t quite fit with how I envision bikers speaking. Ollie sure as heck didn’t act like a badass. While I understand he was in the middle of recovering from something horrific, he was such a softy, it took away from his realism. Yes, it’s fiction. I get it. But with all things, everyone has limits, including me.

Call it a stereotype, but it’s how I felt. I mean, I am in no way saying that guys that are part of this type of club (though this particular one is not partaking in illegal activities and its members are some of the most honorable and brave people possible) can’t be smart, or even a little nerdy. Obviously, as their resident hacker, Ollie is going to be both. But it was a stretch that he loved The Princess Bride that much. And the emphasis on his emotional upheaval was emasculating – guys don’t think like that. I don’t know a single man who thinks the way Ollie does. Because while the book was fun to read, it was extremely clear that it was written by a woman.

Why is that bad? Because I couldn’t lose myself in the characters. I enjoyed their story. I totally dug the action. Those two elements kept this rating in the middle. But the disconnect I maintained with the characters made it hard to love the book.

wrThe hero we’ve all been waiting for…

Ethan “Ozzie” Sykes

Former Navy SEAL

Underground operator for Black Knights Inc., the covert government defense firm disguised as a custom motorcycle shop.

In a black-on-black international mission that went seriously sideways, Ozzie was badly injured—now he’s stuck at BKI headquarters in Chicago, champing at the bit to get out into the field again. To his disgust, he’s tasked with distracting Chicago Tribune ace reporter Samantha Tate, who’s been trying to dig up the dirt on BKI for years. Turns out Samantha’s beauty, intelligence and sense of humor are a seriously big distraction, and Ozzie’s losing his desire to keep her at bay.

Ozzie’s tired of hiding, and Samantha may be the best-and worst—person to share his secrets with…

The List to End All Lists

I really enjoyed this book. I loved seeing a not-twenty-something finding her footing, and living real life. I love realistic books!

Mateo and Emerson have a wonderful relationship, and it was fab to watch come to fruition. Seeing her learn to appreciate herself as an individual and go after what she wanted was inspiring. And Mateo? Wooo! He is an AWESOME BBF. Kind, sexy, compassionate, and daring, he will steal your heart.

The struggles that come with being a divorced mom and the drama that an ex brings to the table certainly kept the book grounded, but the pace never wavered.

I will say, I never really wondered about the outcome, I didn’t see the draw to her old life, but I was happy with how the author presented the ending.

The Sex Bucket List by Prescott Lane
Release Date: March 9th
Genre: Contemporary Romance

I’m Emerson, and my “to do” list is longer than I’d like. You might wonder what kind of woman comes up with a sex bucket list? Answer — the kind who’s been in a sex drought, has two crazy girlfriends encouraging her, and one too many bottles of wine.

This kind of list requires special skill. And I have just the man in mind to help me. He’s younger. So that checks one thing off my list. And he’s the kind of man every woman should sleep with at least once in her life. The kind of man who knows his way around a woman’s body. And God, I’d like him to know mine.

Armed with new lingerie and a fancy high-tech vibrator, I’m taking charge. Of love, of life, and my libido. How hard can that be? Well, judging by the rate of pole dancing injuries, I might be in trouble.

But how much trouble can one woman get in? Giving your panties to a stranger isn’t illegal in Georgia, is it?

Grab a pen and make your own Sex Bucket List!

Our kiss is hard and rough, and it has my legs clenching together.  His hands go to my ass, pulling my dress up slightly, lifting me up onto the edge of my desk, grinding against me.  Wearing a wrap dress today was a good call.  I usually wear wrap dresses because they are no fuss, add a nice cinch to my waist, and feel like pajamas.  Easy access wasn’t one of the reasons, but I’m thankful for it now.

Wrestling with his shirt, I yank it out of his pants, desperate to feel his skin under my fingertips.  His tongue finds my neck, and he kisses a path along my collarbone.  I thrust against every hard inch of him.  He pulls on the tie of my dress, and I wrap my legs around his waist.  Picking me up, he pushes me up against the floor-to-ceiling window.

I can’t remember the last time a guy banged me up against a wall, or a window, for that matter.  This is a perk of being with a younger man.  Am I really going to do this?  In my office?  In the middle of the day?  He must feel my hesitation because he lowers my legs to the ground, flipping me towards the window, his hard dick pushing up against my ass, his warm breath tickling my neck.

He whispers in my ear, “Number 19.  Orgasm in a public place.  I’m saying this counts.”  I look down the few stories to the busy Atlanta street, the neighboring building.  Roughly, he forces my legs apart with his foot then reaches his hand between my legs and pushes my panties to the side.  “Your list belongs to me,” he says, his voice hard.

Review ~ Coming Up For Air by Miranda Kenneally

Coming Up for Air is a great YA story with a well rounded cast of characters. I enjoyed the friendships and how they developed.

So we have these for friends, right? They’re on the cusp of adulthood, senior year, and hella focused on their sport (2 singers, 1 cheerleader, and a football player). They have been together four years, as they had alerted scheduled due to sports. They were solid, tight.

Well to be honest, there wasn’t any ridiculous drama reading them apart at the seams. It happened naturally and didn’t feel forced. Maggie and Levi moved from friends to more than friends at a believable pace that paid homage to how nature dedicated athletes can be, but never forgetting they’re kids.

It’s a great book for YA lovers who prefer the lighter side of the rainbow.

cufaSwim. Eat. Shower. School. Snack. Swim. Swim. Swim. Dinner. Homework. Bed. Repeat.
All of Maggie’s focus and free time is spent swimming. She’s not only striving to earn scholarships—she’s training to qualify for the Olympics. It helps that her best friend, Levi, is also on the team and cheers her on. But Levi’s already earned an Olympic try out, so she feels even more pressure to succeed. And it’s not until Maggie’s away on a college visit that she realizes how much of the “typical” high school experience she’s missed by being in the pool.

Not one to shy away from a challenge, Maggie decides to squeeze the most out of her senior year. First up? Making out with a guy. And Levi could be the perfect candidate. After all, they already spend a lot of time together. But as Maggie slowly starts to uncover new feelings for Levi, how much is she willing to lose to win?
