Before I get into what I think about this book, I’m going to put myself out there and ask…why are people so negative about this book? I mean, way to go KA! You moved away from your tried and true and gave us a great story that is not “typical”for you. Thanks babe!
Right, before I get myself in more trouble, let’s move on…
I know I said KA moved away from her comfort zone, note that I didn’t say how far. Because it’s not as far as you think, based on the blurb. The hero reminds of Lee Nightingale, but mostly because of his speech patterns. It’s very reminiscent of him (this is not a complaint). I really liked how Kristen explained the alpha-sub. Totally made sense to me. Totally dug it.
The heroine was freaking cool. A powerful woman, who knows and respects herself, treats others with respect, and is a great friend? I’m not really sure how not to like her. I can understand some of the less kind comments about her, but I don’t agree wth them. We’ll leave it at that.
This book is filled, to the brim, with hot, kinky, wtf-did-that-just-happen sex. A. Lot.
It’s also filled with Kristen giving you that, and you appreciating her giving you that because you know how hard it is. But in doing this, you give her even more.
^^ This style of writing got confusing. And a teeny bit redundant. And possibly annoying on a rare occasion. That’s why I couldn’t give The Deep End five stars. Other than that, I really loved the connection to the characters and the entire plot.
